Home Sweet Home was what I was singing as I got onto the plane headed to California! I lived there for a little while growing up and I had forgotten how beautiful and endearing it all is. From the crisp blue waters to the tall mountain tops, I honestly could not get enough! I went to California from April 19th-April 26th a nice healthy trip! Here is my trip details and I hope you get some inspiration!
Flight Details:
I flew American for both flights and took a carry-on and personal item only! I seriously do not know how I did it but I was able to pack for over a week in just that. Meanwhile as I am writing this I just packed for a 4 day trip and couldn’t fit my stuff in my carry-on… but anyway! I flew from the Philadelphia airport to the LAX airport for $280.97. I flew economy and seat was comfortable but paying for a aisle or window seat maybe worth it do be more comfortable.
Stay:
So for this trip, my family really supported me in allowing me to stay with them! I stayed with my Uncle and his family from the 19th-23rd and then my cousin for the remaining days.
Car rental:
So listen folks this is where the budget got a little hazy. I used my enterprise point to pay for the entire rental BUT what I did not account for was how much gas was and how much traffic I would encounter in LA. Gas prices were $5.17 on average…. guys I pay around $3.00 for gas in Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Food places I recommend:
BlaqHaus North Hollywood: They have soul food, they have the drinks, they have the hookah, and they have the vibe! It was so cute inside and honestly great food. I got strawberry Cheesecake hookah, Fried deviled eggs, and shrimp and grits. My cousin got the Soul Rolls, and I think the Cajun Jambaylaya Pasta, with two wings on the side, and I can not remeber her drink unforunatly. I would give this resturant a 8.5 out of 10!
Eat Sticky Rice: Located at the Grand Central Market in Downtown LA I had the Gai Yang it was amaizing and a different flavor profile then I was used to. The chicken was juicy and I am a huge fan of sticky rice so the meal was a 9/10 for me!
I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did! I loved California and would consider moving back to where I used to live one day. Please drop a comment on anyway I can improve these travel post as I think I want to post all of my travel! TTYL!
