Don’t we just LOVE a travel blog! I have been holding on to this one for a while as I went on this trip in March but I honestly wanted to share it because I feel like I promised it! The trip did not go as planned due to on main thing my friend got sick. I mean sick sick folks. I went on this trip with one friend as a relaxation trip to get away from everything and just relax. She unfortunately got very sick from airport food she had prior to boarding. This affect the entire trip but we still tried to make the most out of it!

Flights:
Yall… I fear I like spirit… They have been eating I am not going to lie to you. If I am booking Spirit I am booking their upgraded class that comes with the checked bag, carry on, and personal item and then the middle seat is open. I just don’t understand how Spirit offers these perks with free drink and snack on board and still be cheaper then American… like actually how do the make it happen? So for specfic details we flew out of the Philadelphia airport and had a layover in Fort lauderdale then to the punta cana airport in the domincan republic. This flight in total with all the upgrades classifed as the “Go Comfy” upgrade costed me $485.75 round trip.

Stay:
We stayed at this Beautiful resort named Ocean El Faro! It was beautiful! The beautifully groomed resort with 900 guest rooms, 10 restaurants, and 13 bars. It was great! The room itself was pretty pristine, except for the bathrooms which it feels like main all inclusive resorts slack on slightly but even still was not the worst I have seen. Above you can see that the resort was bright but had a very nice manicured and modern feel. Great for families and for friend groups it was not bad either. For solo travelers and couples, you may feel out of place unless you pay a premium to stay of the adults only but even still it definitely has the vibe of a family trip. All and all the stay was great and I would stay there again because it was a great resort.

Food:
The food at this resort was better than average for all inclusive food. The trip started out really really strong! I visited the Hibachi bar named Sakura, Mexican restaurant Margarita, Daisy Pool snack bar, the buffet El mercado, The steak house, and the Italian restaurant Dolce Vita. With the Mexican Restaurant being my absolute favorite the food was seasoned so nicely tasted extremely fresh. On the other hand I absolutely hated Dolce Vita the Italian restaurant except for the fried calamari I had. I apologize to all of you that I do not remember what I got exactly but I would rate the food on the resort in general a 7 out of 10 which in my eyes is extremely high for an all inclusive in my book. I would recommend going to Margarita the Mexican restaurant, Sakura the Hibachi Restaurant, and the Daisy Pool Snack bar.

Because my friend was sick during the trip honestly night life was sparse but I did go out to dinner each night and do at least on activity each night. Ocean El Faro definitely has a night life and I was feeling it! Because I was by myself, I was not drinking crazy but I did have some drinks. First heads up is in the actual club sections whether you went to the club section on the beach or the club building both places don’t have the best drinks. They pour with intentions of getting you drunk not making the drinks good. Now of course for most that is the goal but it was a little annoying just tasting straight rubbing alcohol when I actually wanted a good drink. This is a great place to meet people and I did meet a few girls and danced with them. Some were solo travelers and some were with groups who didn’t want to come out. I really enjoyed these spots on the resort and I tried to go each night.

Ocean El Faro I would give a 8.5 out of 10. The food with above average, night life was fun, family filled but kids were honestly at bay. Overall a great stay and with a few minor tweaks Ocean El Faro would be a 10!
