We are three weeks strong into the Aruba content and now that I have had some time to think about my trip I think I have compiled a list of things we did that I think you should do too!

Food:

We had a lot of interesting food on the island and I wish we had tried more interesting and local items but I have some tips to follow or at least think about.

Aruba’s water is great. It taste so fresh and that is because they distilled their water directly on the island. A lot of tropical destinations advise you to not drink the tap water/restaurant water but through thorough research Aruba’s water is safe to drink. I encourage you to do your own research on this if you are choosing to go as it is a good practice.

Pastechis are pretty easy to find on the island as it is what many people consider the national dish of Aruba. It is a puffy dough filled with different items. The common ones I saw were cheese, chicken, pork, ham and cheese, pizza filled. I taste 2 different types the chicken and the ham and cheese. Both were pretty good and I personally loved the dough. It was sweet but not overly and not as crispy as a empanada. I would give them a 7/10 overall.

Activities:

Beaches: We went to eagle beach, Andicuri beach and palm beach during our stay. I really really wish we went to more beaches but with the two that we went to they were amazing! I can confidently say that Aruba has some of the best beaches. They almost match the Hawaii beaches and that is say a LOT. I loved both beaches so much and the sand is white, fine and fluffy. I really enjoyed lounging and swimming out there as it was very calm waters. Heads up Andicuri is not a beach for swimming it is on the north side of the island and we went to sight see. The waves are very rough and not fit for swimming.

Excursions: We did two excursions during our trip and these may have been the best excursions I have done.
Jolly Roger Pirate ship: We did this excursion with the full group and you basically were on a pirate ship and got to snorkel and jump off the boat. This excursion to me is a waste if you do not want to get in the water. The unlimited drinks were not enough to validate the trip if you were not going to get into the water. but it was a great excursion! It was my first time snorkeling and it was amazing! I had so much fun and I got to see so much.

Atv riding tour and cave swim: This excursion was INSANE. It was by far the best excursion I have every done. We got to ride the atvs through the towns of Aruba and tour the northside of the island. We go to see the Alto Vista Chapel, one out of the six natural bridges, the Gold mine ranch, the Conchi natural pool. It was amazing! We saw so much of the island and honestly had the time of our lives. We got dirty tested the limits and had a great tour guide.

Hooiberg Hike: This was beautiful. I 1000% recommend this as it comes with a great views and exercise which comes far and few times on vacation. I do recommend not buying into any of the excursions that will take you to the hike as it is a very easy trail meaning the entire trail has paved steps to follow the entire way. It took me and my boyfriend 25-30 minutes and that included stopping along the way to take pictures. Please remember to bring sunscreen as it gets pretty hot on the way up. Also there were little to no clouds on our way up.
That is it folks. This has been an awesome experience! I loved Aruba and every second of it! I am excited to do more of this style of blog as we go through this year.
