Big Girl Energy in the New Year

Welcome back to Big Girl Time. It is great to see you back again! In today’s blog post we are starting off with what makes sense and that is how to exude Big Girl energy all year long starting now. Just as we make our vison boards and decide the goals we are going to entertain for a month, what if we did something long lasting? Here are the 4 things we will be focusing on this year to exude that Big Girl energy!!!

Goal making: You know I was going to say it but your goals are going to be very Important this year. This is where the journey starts, right here. If you don’t have any goals to bench mark your progress then trust me you will not become a Big Girl. Make 3 big goals for yourself. Big goals that will possibly take a good portion of the year to complete. Take your time with this one. Be realistic but don’t set the bar to low. Do you want to get out of credit card debt, do you want to grow your relationship with God, travel 3 times this year, do you want to look cute and classy everyday? What is it? What are those three big goals? Next you will break each goal into a 12 month plan. Each month has smaller goals include in them as well. Stay tuned for the next blog that dives more into my personal goals and how I execute this plan.

Appearance: This one is a huge one for me personally. Don’t get me wrong, ya girl can put it on when I need to but on an everyday basis… no it just don’t be happening that way. How can I expect to be taken seriously if I showed up looking a rag tag volunteer in need of a shower? (Hamilton reference) No but seriously though you will not be a Big Girl if you are not taking care of your physical appearance. Nails, Hair, Toes, Skin, Clothes, all of it. I am sure it goes without saying you don’t have to go to a nail salon, buy new clothes, get your hair done every two weeks to be a Big Girl but you do need to take care of yourself. We will dive into this more in another blog post.

Money: The topic no one wants to talk about but the one thing that will stop you from truly being a Big Girl. If you are under the age that it is legal to work then this does not apply to you but folks it is time to have a healthy relationship with money. It is funny because out of everything on this list this is the one thing I struggle with the most and that’s me being honest. As a new college graduate working a new full-time job money is weird right now. I am making more money than I ever have in the past but I also don’t make what I want to make. This can affect your appearance, goals, relationships with yourself and others, and how you serve God. Isn’t that CRAZY. Yup money will take a few blog post to get through so stay tuned, but for now start assessing your problem areas with money. Write them out and keep them close.

God and Self: These two categories are together because they are hand and hand. I can only speak on experience but my relationship with God has only made this whole Big Girl thing elevated this overall experience. With God I have peace, new understanding, and just overall will to do better because of who I am doing it for. But let me tell you, having a relationship with God does not make it easier to be a Big Girl. Just because God is peace doesn’t mean I always take God up on that offer. Just because God helps me understand new topics does not mean I will always be receptive of that knowledge. Just because God does this and that does not mean I will actually do it or entertain it. Which is why I choose this to focus on this year. God has it but we need to grab it! More on this soon.

Okay so we have to start somewhere right and this post is just an intro to this long never ending journey of being a Big Girl. This was a little hard to write because I don’t know how to format this lol but hey Ill get better right.

Ok TTYL!
